Should I worry about ANOTHER bad maf?

Should I worry about ANOTHER bad maf?
Well, I think it's safe to stay the stock mafs are only meant for the stock airboxes. I switched intakes and blew mine. Randomly lost power over 4k till I almost got hit by a 18 wheeler because it randomly Died on a turn and wouldn't go past 2.4k.... This ONLY happened right when I changed it. Budy of mine installed headers, started his car and his maf blew asap. Posts on the last 2-3 pages are about blown mafs. Another budy of mine is running a 500+hp trans am with a stock maf running fine... Here are my questions......
I'm getting a Injen cai tonight, will ecu reset hopefully help my chances of not hurting my new maf?
I'm assuming you can upgrade your maf to a stronger one, can anyone point me in the right direction? I believe there was a thread about someone asking if it was stupid to do the ecu reset or idle relearn once installing a new intake, I thought it was stupid at the time, but seeing how sensative our stock mafs are... Can't help but worry....

Take the Injen and sell it. It won't do you a bit of good. Been there done that, waste of money. Ported Stock Airbox should give you the minimal gain you're looking for and sounds alright.

Well either way i'm getting it for a good price, and was curious to try it and see if I notice a difference. I had a apexi, blew the maf. Back to stock now un gabbed, and debating on if it's safe to risk another maf on a cai that may or may not add similar if not the same hp as the gab w.o eating up my high end...

but on a side note.. i have had a berk and apexi filter.. and now a berk R2C filter...on for about 10-15 K? and never had a problem with the maf,.. and i know the feeling of a blown one because i blew one on my 00 max..

Original MAF; (so far). Cleaned with CRC only once, just a few months ago.
Of course, now that's I've made that claim, I'm sure to get in line behind MIK3.

And sigh....
I'm just curious as to whether it's worth it or not.
