Hmm. I really like how it has the brackets built into it.

I had to bend my metal ones all out of shape to get my head unit to work without the metal sleeve it is supposed to come with.

So when I upgrade the H/U, I'll just get this.

You'll probably have better luck the the Audio and Electronics forum for these types of questions.

from my experience ive noticed alot of kits leave a small gap in the lower left part of the dash. ive never installed that kit but it may be different due to the fact that it has its own outer brackets, it does look like a decent kit. kgallerie is right u should have posted this in the audio and electronics forum there are some really knowledgeable guys that post in there and will probably be able to farther answer ur question. and i believe the TE is a different color from the GLE.

I have this dash kit. It had absolutely PERFECT fitment but I had to take rewire and add crap to my navi so now there is a small gap that goes across the bottom. Probably the best dash kit for the 5.5gen

I have it, installed the other day. It matches nicely, but I am having problems with the fitment of it and the vents...they sort of hang over the top of it, I guess I need to fiddle with it some more.

FWIW, I've not used the kit for the Max, but I installed a kit from the same company in my '99 T/A. I picked mine up from Wal-Mart for I think about $20. The fitment was nearly perfect...I had to do a little grinding on one of the bolts to get it to slide in, but it wasn't a major ordeal. That, and I painted it to match the interior.

I'd say probably worth the money. People bash Scosche all the time, (probably mainly because it's carried by Wal-Mart) but I've never had any issues with their products.

I have the same kit for my double din Nav. It was fine for about 6 months but the Nav would shake at speed of 40+, I took off the plastic brackets and moded the factory metal brackets to fit the Nav and used the outside trim that came with the kit and now its great but if you have a double din deck get it.

I'm pretty sure they're the same product, or close to it. They're both made by Scosche.

I painted mine OEM Sterling Silver Mist Metallic to match the exerior of my car.
I have the Scosche 1494B kit...it is ****. I had to work on it for almost a whole day to get it to fit my two single DIN head units. I would never but Scosche again.

that looks pretty clean. Did you paint the entire center console or just the kit? looks like a pretty good match
