300 bux? used ones in working condition on car-part have a huge range, i think most people who get used ones pay 700-900 bux

Coincidentally, there's someone in the classifieds selling a used MT right now:

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...pd-tranny.html

I'm no expert on used part prices, but it seems to me for the money he's asking you could almost get a brand new '04 MT w/HLSD. Or an entire truck. (See, now there's one of those dumazz comments you warned about.)

Try calling a few tranny shops and get a quotes on a rebuilt 2002-2003 MT, then adjust accordingly. I'm inclined to agree with Hotshot on the $300 range.

something i would look into especially if u didnt have a HLSD would be the SpecV tranny. internals are excatly the same apparently the only difference is the VQ35 bellhousing/clutch plate. And all SpecVs come with HLSD. Just throwing it out there because most of the SpecV trannies i see are going for like $400, so they are not that expensive.

Just 02-03 have a 4.4 finally drive so gears are extremely short. And the 04-06 have the same 4.1 as the 6th gen.

i just checked courtesys website, its 1834 for a new one with the lsd . you would be nuts to pay what he wants...even if he could verify the mileage..

lol 1150 for open diff with 83k, I bought one with lower mileage in 05 or 06 for 600...

I would say 250-300 for the bad bearing tranny

Idk man seeing how much we pay for them up here in ny I figure with a bad bearing you could probably get 5-650 for your box because it is an easy fix, but hey if u wanna sell that box for 300 I would be sure to take it off your hands and build it lol.
