I dont see how a 3" could increase low end torque in cars with less than 250hp. Usually in that range they recommend 2.5in. It seems most on this site that are serious are running those numbers to the pavement. Maybe i'm ignorant to the beauty and magical powers of Cattman stuff. I wish I had more $$$$$!!!!

Shhhhh... don't go there, trust me!

To make a long story short, the 3" has proven gains. Since the 3.5 makes alot of low end torque to begin with, a 3" exhaust and even a vias delete affects low end torque at a minimum. The gains are made midrange on up. Many have proven this with dyno runs and by racing.

I see....I see. To be honest the only qualities I expect out of an exhaust system is that its suited to my N/A engine(unlike Greddy) and doesn't make my ears hurt after 30mins of "65mph" HWY driving. I will support any company thats makes an effort to design products specifically made for VQ engines. Lets be honest, we aren't tops on the list of tuner platforms.

Most people with 3" exhausts or thinking of it are at or right at the threshold of 250whp.

Yeah, Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! In theory 2.5" is the recommended size in general, but there has been some big gains moving to a 3" catback from a 2.5" catback!

I bought my car with a cutout and when i would open it at 6,000 rpms the car would pull like a monster! I wanna get a 3" exhaust and if i do theres no point in me putting the cutout back. I see the catback system here but are headers available?

FYI; I have a ($40. shipped) Magnaflow 22" x 4"dia resonator (that BRM uses) BNIB in case the headers and SRS exhaust is too loud/obnoxious for my taste.
That's actually a downgrade from the 20" long x 6" round Cattman bullet style (3" inlet/outlet) resonator......I'm curious how it would sound with that Magnaflow 22" x 6" resonator and a Borla 3" inlet/dual 2.25" outlet rear muffler......

The 22" x 4" will be an upgrade from the 16" x 3" bullet style resonator that's stock on the SR*S system.

You can see I'm a 5.5 gen with a few upgrades. the upgrades compliment the 3". yes there are headers available, I've got them and they kick A$$. Check it out...at Idle and cruise there isn't much drone IMHO. However when you open her up, my god she screams. well anyway - that's my two cents and you do what you gotta do. I personally love the feel and the sound at all levels of throttle. you need the supporting mods for full satisfaction. for me it was the sound of the exhaust, but for power it was the NWP spacers (5pc) and BoP. Oh and the Engine Torque Link (crazy what that does)

Pretty quiet, just stay out of the drone zone I usually stay at about 70-80....but **** with the headers you just love to push it past that addicting...

I believe it man! MY boy has the full catman system. The car has all the power mods when i bought her, Hlsd, Port and polished upper and lower manifolds, Nwp spacers, BOp, Torque link, Fully polyurethane front end, bushings, Full obx exhaust, but i wanna move up the ladder. To do cattman headers is pointless since i have the obx setup, but im gonna give the brm 3" a shot! and see how it is, got a wideband and vafc2 as well, not hooked up. Spring time is when the modding will rebegin!

Sounds a bit exotic right? Hammered mine today and it really sounded like a small V8.....You'll fall in love with the sound and the surge of acceleration against your backside, it's addictively intoxicating!

Yeah I get on it here and there but not really, waiting to do alot of Front End Maintence, ES MM, ES LCA, ES Subframe Bushings, ES FSB Bushing and Moog Sway Bar End Links, should have all done by end of Jan. and I know I will get a better feel out of this system.....

Sprayed some Rubber sealant in the trunk spare tire well inside and out...It's like undercoating and applied it to everything under there and it's definitely reduced the db level during part throttle transmitted into the cabin....Gotta spray my support panel as well!
Cattman performed well in it's 4.0hr ride down I10...Cruising @ 75mph-85mph was a blast! Just applying a little more pressure to the accelerator jumped it up to 95-100 mph in a blink......

I have had my Cattman 3" (with headers) on for two weeks, and it is surprisingly quieter while cruising than my OE-RS setup. And the sound is way better, too. At 65 mph, it is really quiet on a level road. Above 68ish mph starts to be louder, but the drone isn't as bad as the Megan system. And the power is great!

I'm glad to hear that it is quite. The maxima is my DD and I don't enjoy the FART CAN noise of the other cars with headers and exaust systems. The quiter the better in my opinion. Especially on idle. I wouldn't mind it if it got louder as your accelerated fast though.

I used "FLEX SEAL" and sprayed the entire trunk floor and spare tire recess interior and exterior! Did one coat and will do another coat on the entire trunk again, this first application was just to experiment in reducing the slow speed drone....frome 68 mph on up exhaust is quiet....during low speed operation in 30-50 mph traffic with an A/T Max there's some drone with passing or trying to accelerate just a little with finese (manually shifting the A/T does eliminate this and it sexy as hell)....Yes I can smash it to the floor but tipping into throttle is what I do in stoplight to stoplight traffic til I've worked my way thru all the distracted drivers playing with their phones, girlfriends or just counting their pubic hairs!!!!

Just another vote of confidence in the 3.0" cat-back. I have it installed on my 02 SE 6spd, and the techs at the shop who did the work were inpressed with the fit, finish, and overall quietness. I only notice a drone at 2200-2400rpm with say 35% throttle open [climbing a hill and holding speed for example]. I wonder if resonated tips might help this, but it is not a big enough problem to really bother with. Otherwise, I find the noise level really unobtrusive- while still making good car noises when asked. NOTHING like old the Bavaria with duals and glasspacks ever was!

Cool vids, but I would like to give you some advise. When you're driving, steer with your left hand and shift with your right. Old habits are hard to break, but you will drive and shift much better doing it this way.
