Amber H3 Fog Bulbs
#81
5800K H3 bulbs off eBay. These were like $4 or something silly cheap like that. I remember the shipping was more than the cost of the bulbs themselves. Been going strong, almost daily, for half a year without blowing, so I'm pretty happy.
There's no serious light output from them, but our fogs are mostly cosmetic, or see-me-coming bright, anyway. They're use as actual fogs is somewhat lacking... unless you install a HID kit.

I don't think there is such a thing. At least, nothing designed as plug-n-play for a H3 connector. You would have to mount a panel of 48 or so forward facing LED's or SMD's on the inside of the reflector somehow...
Actually, that's not so crazy. Something like this, in amber, rewired into the H3 connector:
But... no, no, no. I'm done.
You do it, NissanMan97.

The following is side-ways off-topic, but I'm the OP, so what the heck.
I've been using Amber 9-SMD wedge bulbs in my running lights for the last half year. They're identical in design to the 9-SMD H3 bulbs I tried in my fogs. Anyway, one failed on me a few weeks ago, and I replaced it with this yesterday:
This is an array of 25 half-sized SMD emitters, similar in output to the 9 full-sized SMD emitters in the bulb it replaces. It's slightly less long, seems more compact and solid, and the light is more uniformly dispersed.
Of course, at this point, I'm splitting hairs. In other words, they're pretty much identical. But I thought I'd mention it here anyway, just because.

Running Lights = Driving Lights.

I've got something similar to those in my running lights. I went with amber in the front and red in the rear (matching factory color).

im gonna stick with the amber. the blue ones are never the right blue for me. Im gonna keep it as stock in appearance as possible (but ill still led's cause they are cool) and spend the rest on performance.

Yea, they aren't that amber looking to me, but they are just 55w H3 Halogen bulbs coated with an amber paint, but if you look at the bulb, it's not coated all the way to the bottom of it, therefore the halogen oem color and the amber clash to make the output light amber. They were purchased like that, I did not paint them. I'll post a pic of the bulb later on.

Yep, those are coated amber. Man, I looked high and low for that, and came up empty.
It still isn't the kind of color I had in mind, but then again, photos can be deceiving, and the best assessment is made by eye.

Yea, they aren't what I was looking for either, want them to be stronger like my parking lights, but the leds have more color than halogens. Btw, www.autolumination.com are the only people who have them, $4 a bulb.

I could be wrong but i've never seen a "amber" HID. The amber is just the coat over the stock bulbs. I know there is different shades of 3000K HID but never seen them in amber.
You probably got two options, you could just buy the "amber" upgraded bulbs but those will probably cost as much as a HID kit or you can just get an amber fog housing with the 3000K HID kit and see what you get

When was this phatboi? I've been looking on and off for them for couple years, I know 3Bspec made them at once, but he told me they turned pink after a handful of uses, maybe that's why they stopped, he didn't recommend them so I never bought them..

not in the state of tennessee, your allowed to have aftermarket lights as long as the dont rotate, flash or strobe. I have friends who have been pulled over for blue and red and the police all said as long as they dont flash...so if that goes for leds why would fogs be illegal?

I have high doubts of this, but then again, down south all the rules are different. You can still have relations with your cousin, employ an african-american without pay, and I believe it's necessary for every vehicle owner to install a confederate flag on their hood.
