Indeed, even on the brightest of days - they are, however, faint.
If I ever come across high-output amber LED set ups, you'll be the first notified.

The fogs are different fitment from 5.0 gen (plastic) to 5.5 gen (glass).

You guys have inspired me. I have a pair of Amber LED H3 bulbs just collecting dust from a couple years ago. I think I'm going to install them.
Just because.

You know something? You're absolutely right... I'm going crazy for lack of mod projects, even little bitty ones. Between winter and waiting for the next car, I've done nothing in many months. And even then, the last thing I did wasn't even a mod, it was a repair/replacement part.

Well, that was disappointing. One of these old H3 LED bulbs doesn't work. I don't know if only one ever worked, or if one went bad handling it, or what. All I know is I'm dead in the water.
Ah, the hell with it. Now I'm grumpy.

IDK about Thorazine, but a glass of Pinot seems like just reward. And it's always time for a nap, Albert. Always.

Too bad. If you like the look with them off, you should just buy some yellow vinyl my friend, unless you're opposed to the yellow look while the lights are off. I would be.
The vinyl is cheap, goes on very easily, and if you don't like it, you just take it off.......
Metrostyling.com has provided decent stuff to me with great customer service, I'd recommend them for your vinyl needs if you choose this route. Shipping was INSANE fast, reasonably priced, and packaged with more care than I'd ever imagine. Even came with applicator.
Well go get yourself a cup of Tea and a double of Thorazine its almose time for a nap.

^That's the only one posted worth trying. The rest aren't Amber. I'm surprised SUPERBRIGHTLED's is listing it as Amber, considering they don't make Amber 5050's yet. i know many places list yellow and amber as one and the same, but Superbright doesn't traditionally do that. Even the colour shown is Yellow, not their amber (orangy) looking colour code. I suspect this is simply a mistake.

Nah, I'm done. Next car.
Short for Pinot Noir, you freaking Troglodyte.

Now that I can relate to.
Keep your Canadian ale on your side of the lakes, Tuner.
Whoa! I know this is all stupidly off-topic, but check out the website for Newcastle Brown Ale.

Well done. Any mods from this point on should be simple "something to do" stuff. That is, until you buy a real car.
Clearly this is one that will require a slight investment and some tinkering.
Though I don't see how vinyl can look and different from colour lens, that is, supposing the vinyl was the same colour and tint.
Hey dude I resent that! Just cause you're french doesn't mean you can call me names! (I'm assuming that you're french? A new developement, something I didn't know about you sir!)
And just 'cause I rock out in an igloo doesn't make me a full on Troglodyte. Just seasonally.
That may result in him gaining some 'taste'. Clearly something he has no interest in doing.
Just kidding big guy Time for a group hug

I ran across the amber vinyl that I bought years ago, as one attempt at this thread's goal. It never really worked out, because even though it looked OK in the evening, it just didn't look right on the daytime fogs of my sheer silver Maxima.
But now I've got a new car. And it's white.
So I whipped out a pair of scissors and ran a crude experiment, just to see what it would look like.
and I really don't know just yet. It's interesting and different, and enough of a curiosity to take a picture to think about it for a while.

I like it dude! It's hard to say if I like it better clear or amber, only because the plate is messing it up. Different colour yellow and all.
With the other style NY plates I think it could look very good indeed.
OAN this thread made me realize I really do want to paint my car something like this:

If it were purely the "lit" look that I was going for, then I could buy a pair of yellow bulbs and call it a day. But I rather like the "unlit" look, with a splash of complementary color against the Moonlight White, particularly when ringed in chrome.
I need to figure out how to remove the lens housing and play with this on my desk, instead of on my driveway.
And yes, the NY plate is more orange than amber. IDK if or when I'm going to go with one of the custom themed plates that offer a different color scheme. That's going to be in my back pocket for a while.

You surprise me sometimes, Tuner. I was expecting you to hurl at this idea.

But with that NY plate it doesn't, at all. I am envisioning it with a normal white plate, and in that essence, I think it will look very good indeed.
Also, if you put a yellow Fog bulb in there now, you'll end up with the AMBER colour you want rather than the yellow you'd get with just a bulb, or just the tint. All in all it's a nice setup, IMO.
Nice work!
I do have a request for a PS of the white plate on there though
