Got Max back from the shop have a problem

As some of you read I had a hydroplane accident in early Feb. I trashed my rear wheels, bent the rear axle, blew my front struts and broke my passenger side speed sensor. The speed sensor somehow damaged the wheel bearings and kept my car down for a total of 4 wks. When I got it back I had to take it right back because the passenger side heat shield was rubbing against the rotor.

They fixed that but now it rubs when I'm turning hard while backing, (something I do often as the turn into my garage is tight). My question, can I just remove the heat/dust shield altogether or will it be a problem sometime down the road?

Are you talking about the metal dust shield around the back side of the rotor?

If so, just take a screw driver and push it back away from the rotor where its rubbing.

I fixed the problem. I put the car up on a lift at the base craft shop and found out that the repair shop hadn't put it on straight. When I bent one side away from the rotor the other side would hit the opposite side. I had to put it on right to make it stop rubbing.
