Update:

Figured I'd re-use this thread rather than start a new one.

I bought the eBay catback, and ran that without the rear section for a while (couldn't get the jacks high enough to swing the pipe over the rear beam).

That setup actually didn't have a bad tone at all, it was just too loud for daily driving.

Then, I ordered the eBay dual tip muffler and welded it in place of the fart can. I am extremely satisfied with the appearance of the muffler. It looks just like any other dual tipped muffler, but it only cost $40 shipped.

Installed the muffler on my dad's lift, and ran that setup for a week. It sounded OK. It had a loud and deep tone, but it was still too loud for my taste.

I decided to remove my resonated test pipe, and I welded some flanges on that 350z resonator that I still had, and replaced my test pipe with that.

Well, I welded them incorrectly, so it doesn't line up perfectly, so it leaks. And I used the flanges off the old test pipe, so that's trashed.

When I'm not getting on it, it doesn't sound half bad, and it's not that loud either, but when I give it too much gas, you can hear the leak.

So, I just ordered a Magnaflow 14 inch, 4 inch round resonator.

I plan on welding a flange to one end of that and bolting that end to the header, and cutting the catback's b-pipe and clamping the other end of the resonator to it, using some of those $11 exhaust band clamps with some copper RTV.

Ill post back when I get that put in. (Should be tomorrow if it gets here before 6)

^ +1. I wonder if it'll be louder with the dual tip muffler or with the fart can.
