I bet you guys cannot beat this

I was driving down the freeway this afternoon and then a square piece of carpet flew out of a truck, hit the car in front of me and flew to my hood , then to my windshield. Guess what.... there are scratch marks on my hood no thanks to the excellent paint quality of Nissan. I bet I cannot get the dealer to do anything to this. So far there is no paint chips and you guys know of anyway/s for me to get rid of the scratches? It is just surface scratches which is not noticible unless you are right ini front of the hood. Would Zaino Z5 work?

why don't you file a claim with your insurance company? This is considered a road debris, something that you have no control of. Let them repaint your hood

I am sick of people blaming NISSAN paint for stuff like this. This is not THE NISSAN PAINT issue that caused your scratches. If you had a GM product which has the best paint by far, it would still scratch the same exact way. Yea the dealer won't do crap for you. Go through your insurance company.

I'm with Russ. Do you really think that paint getting hit by a rough surface at 65 MPH WOULDN'T scratch?

If you give him the "Sarcasm of the day" award without considering my post, I will...

See, I think its easy to go down the sarcasm route once someone has taken that turn. Granted, it still takes talent to be sarcastic (see my post in the current ypipe debate thread), but that guy who makes the move to sarcasm really turns the tide and deserves the award, don't you think?

However, I credit you with an excellent dose of sarcasm.

Well next time this happens especially if it is a commercial truck just simply right down the company name and report it to your insurance or call them directly and they should reimburse you. No need to go after your own insurance because you will have to eat the deductible. I know this because my girl used to work for a commercial ins. company and she said they pay these claims all day long.

sorry to say you are getting hoared on this post.

and I dont think the Zaino is going to work, you are going to need to get it repainted. Contact your insurance co. and see what they got to say.

yeah...

sometimes it's bipolar up in here.. one minute you all hate the soft paint, now you're defending it.

Whatever... sorry to hear carpet scratched your paint.. watch out for foam peanuts too! yeah... *probably* would have scratched any car, but....

man.. lighten up... I know you guys love to rip on someone, but I can't believe it would be over soft nissan paint.
