thumping noise in front end

Hey there, I have an odd sort of thumping noise, fairly quick, but only under certain circumstances.
What I noticed is that under any sort of load either accel or decel with no braking (just the motor) the thumping isn't there. But the transition between throttle on and throttle off there is a short thump, thump, thump.

It SEEMS to be the driver side front area

It also seems to be getting worse, it used to be at higher speeds, and only between throttle transitions, now it seems noticable at even lower speeds, and sometimes its more constant even under very light throttle

Seems to be more audible when its cooler outside, and slightly less audible (mainly kinetic through the floor and steering wheel) when warmer

I checked the wheel bearings by jacking the front end up and trying to jockey the wheel around and found no play, so now I'm lossed

Any input would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

There are a lot of threads like this. Check tie rods and the control arms...take a peak a the boots and bushings. Don't forget to check ur motor mounts if ur getting the noise under load...

i bet motor mounts.have someone hold your break with one foot then gas with the other, if the motor jumps up at you, its the mount. I had the same problem changed the front and rear, then passenger side, no more noises (this is after control arm bushings, tie rods, strut mount, strut bearings)

Yes, 1st check the motor mounts, the pass side is usually the 1st to go. I am lined up to change mine. It is totally shot, cracked bigtime.
