I'm still not fully content with what I've got going on for engine cover bolts, but I am 100% happy with the way my front cross-member looks in this hardware.

I didn't know Hawk made batteries...

Your hardware is looking good though.

My front radiator support brackets and the bracket for the hood sensor are pretty corroded, thanks for reminding me with that photo above. Who do you use to find replacement ones? DaveB?

Those aren't replacement brackets... they're originals. My radiator tie-down brackets were probably just as corroded as yours. I simply ground them down on the wire-wheel, primed and painted.

I did the same with the open-hood switch plate, however the corrosion was so deep there, that the thing is bubbled and pitted. I was thinking of replacing it, but it was something like $30 - $40, and I figured if the electronics are still working, then I'll just grind, prime & paint... which is what I did.

As to the hardware:

  • M6 Titanium flange-nuts from DressUpBolts.com
  • M6-15mm stainless steel buttonhead bolts from DressUpBolts.com
  • Password-JDM Fender Washers with M6-20mm stainless steel countersunk bolts, via eBay. (I'll probably swap these bolts out for the titanium countersunks I'm currently using on the engine cover at some point, when I figure out what makes me happy with the engine cover.)
  • Stainless Steel, rubber-backed washers from Fastenal under everything except the Password-JDM fender washers.

Guess I need to buy a wire wheel, good idea.

Has anyone tried flame-spraying/powder coating their Intake manifold?
Would be relatively inexpensive, pretty easy, and I bet it would look good with whatever color scheme you have under the hood.

So I started looking at options for custom power steering reservoirs.

Billet Specialties. Way overpriced at $159.99 but it looks decent.

Moroso.

Jaz. Looks kinda generic...

Flaming River

Canton

And my favorite: Custom Solutions. These guys make some cool stuff!! This particular model is for the S13, but as you can see from the mounting bolts, it may retrofit to fit our cars.

As did I. I am thinking it may fit in the Maxima. Did you see coolant recovery tank they have?

I haven't ordered anything yet. Still waiting for final pricing on all the blue caps I want. The stainless stuff is on the backburner for me right now. But I do know that 350Z sellers will start getting busy because most are stored for the winter and most will be setting up for spring.

You're right, of course. Serenity now.

my blue split loom showed up today. I have my compressor in the basement. Now I just need some time and a nice day to start airbrushing some parts. Oh, and my setrab oil cooler showed up this week as well.

I asked a company last week for a quote. In the meantime I ended up ordering from another company and got the parts yesterday. This morning I got the answer to the quote. LOL snooze you lose!!

Doesn't the 350zmotorsports have an online ordering system?

You're running out of high-temp days to do this painting. I suppose you could always load the stuff up in your trunk, and sneak into a public garage.

What are you painting, anyway?

They do, but I feel a little apprehensive not being able to communicate with their customer service. Call me paranoid.

Plus, I don't feel like paying sales tax. Tax ID numbers work great sometimes.

I still have to topcoat all the water pipes. The picture of the pipes in black is only the base rustproof coat. I want to paint with a hardnose semi gloss black. Then I can install everything. I may just ask my brother in law if I can use his garage for a few hours. The temp has been nice up here, but too darn windy for an airbrush
