For those who use Amsoil EoA oil filters.

What's the next best choice since Amsoil took this filter off the shelf for our 02/03 Max's?

You can use the VQ30 filter. PM talkinghorse, he will hook you up.

That's good to know. I was considering this one but wasn't too sure if it was available here. I'll have to try it out.

Thanks!

Have you ever cut one of those Mobil filters open to check the construction? I'd be curious to see if it's not just another "Fram".
I have opened up a Motomaster filter from CTC and it is well made in IMO. It's what I use.
Just look @ the size of the filter. I'd never run one for more than 4k miles.

How did the construction compare to the Fram? The parts #'s are practicly identical!

May also try the K&N. From what I've read, they seem to make a good oil filter as well.

Get an amsoil Ea021, same as the mobil 1 m1-105, it's a little bigger than the oem filter so it can hold an extra 1/2 quart of oil.

No, it's 105. 108 is the tiny sucker. The EP filters are the same price, but are twice as big.

And you don't even want to see a fram filter lol.

I did a cross reference check on the M1-105 and no where did it say anything about it being compatible/usable by any Nissan/Infinity vehicle. This was on http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...l_Filters.aspx .

How was it determined this model worked with the VQ35DE?

Here's what the Good old crappy tire filter looks like inside. Nothing like a Fram!

Actually I'm going to try the Mann filter. From what I've read on some reviews, this is also a very good quality filter. Here's a quote from a review I found. And for under $5 each, can't go wrong.

http://www.efficient-mileage.com/oil-filters.html

"MANN+HUMMEL & Bosch own Purolator as of 2006. Purolator was previously an ArvinMeritor product and considered to be one of the finest oil filters in the business. MANN+HUMMEL also make oil filters for the German car manufacturers, BMW, Audi, and Porsche. I'm impressed by the construction of the Mann filter. Bosch outsources their oil filters to Champion Labs. And the Bosch filters are awful."

Here's the site to check out the filter specs.

I'm guessing you guys don't know that the VQ30 filter is bigger and fits the VQ35?

been using this filter on my car since I got it. Until it was disco'd last year sometime. Now I use the amsoil equivalent.
It has the same thread size as the VQ35 and has a better bypass valve. A lot of japanese cars can use this filter, even hondas and acuras use them. Never hurts to have some extra oil in a vq35...

Napa Gold, Pureolator Pure One, K&N, Mobil1 are all good choices and are easily available at most auto parts stores.
