replaced IACV now have P0505

Hey guys, I need your help on this. I have an 2001 maxima GLE.
I have 134k on the odo and have not had any iacv problems. I paid the dealer to replace my sparkplugs and told them to throw the new IACV I bought a year ago from daveb (as preventative maintenance) on as well. They had to perform an idle air relearn and didn't mention any issues of doing that.

Today, I was stopped at a traffic light, threw my car into neutral to wait. A second later the SES light comes on. No idle issues, nothing abnormal. Motor mounts have been disconnected for the past 10k miles so I know its not those. Should I just take this car back to the dealer?? I have a code scanner and I can clear the code. Not sure what is the best way to proceed.

I have the same issue. Mine was first the MAF (second time i've replaced it). Then after replacing that I got the P0505 and I replaced the IACV. The light was off for about a week and it came back on today while idling for a few mins.

I did the relearn and it was good for a two weeks. Then while sitting at a drive through for 5 mins, I reached out the window and hit the gas. It only reved to maybe 4k. Within a couple seconds the light was back on. Same code. I've double checked for air leaks. I might go and see if the dealer will reprogram the ecu.

Let us know how this goes as my max just got the surging and the p0505 code. I really hope I don't have to replace the Ecu.

Stop driving your car. If the ECU isn't already damaged, you could end up damaging it. Check out some of the other threads which have more details on this.

~3k miles later, my car has been solid...knock on wood.
