Other Nissan headunit compatible with 5th gen?

Just out of curiousity, are there any other radios compatible with the 5th gen?
The reason why i ask is there is a company that sells OEM factory radios for cheap , and i kinda wanted to keep my Max all OEM as much as i can.

My cd player doesn't work , but the radio does and i was looking to get another head unit

nissan uses BOSE (BLOSE) sound systems. the headunit and speakers use 2 OHM's. most, if not all, other systems/speakers run with 4 OHM's. which means that you will need to replace your speakers as well. i know there is a way that you can wire up a 2 OHM speaker(s) with a 4 OHM headunit. just google search and im sure you will find some results.

something i found on google search- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...4115708AAxWeRf

scroll down and the other answers give links to sites

hope this helps, Kevin

Only Nissans equipped with the optional Bose system have Bose installed.

As far as I know and historically speaking, most commonly used OEM Nissan sound systems are Clarion built and use 4 ohm speakers.

TO answer your question, no. I have not seen anything out there that has the same shape as the 5th gen's dash. So you're out on the HU. Other parts like the amps and speakers are interchangeable between some Nissan and Infinity models. I know you are trying to keep your car as stock as you can but really nobody is going to fault you for replacing an 11 year old non-functioning headunit.
