Remote Starter

Hello all,
I want to install a Viper 5301 Remote start system in my car. Im looking to do this specific model because I eventually want to add the Start Smart Module to it.

Has anyone ever installed a remote start system in a 5.5 gen maxima (2003).
I wanted to know if anyone has a tutorial or something.
Also if anyone knows if I need to get one of those transponder bypass systems.

Would I need that for a remote starter? Or just for a Security system and remote starter?

Car is Auto
Please advise.
Thanks!

This might help. Although it is for a different model, it should provide some insight.

You need a xk05 bypass module for your car the install is fairly easy about 3 hours if you tuck and hide everything nice.i can post the wiring diagram and install instruction on friday.also its no harder to do the alarm and remote verus just one part because your going to be pulling the same panels and to do the remote start by itself you have to tap into the factory alarm anyway so why not just make the 3 connections for the viper alarm and have some peace of mind and only have to carry one keyfob.

You have to bypass the clutch with a relay and tap the neutral sensor switch at the ecm

I installed my own alarm/remote starter. I got mine from autoalarmpro.com

I believe I paid something like $220 for a two way remote starter/alarm. It was very nice and detailed instructions on how to install.
