Air Con smell
Whenever I turn on my air con, a stinky smell permeates the entire car. After about 5 min, the smell goes away. Is there a way that i can clean it so prevent the smell?

There are commercial cleaners out there specifically for this. The problem is that the coil is typically hard to get to, burried somewhere deep inside the HVAC system which in turn is buried well into the dash on most cars. (not sure about the Max)
You spray this stuff on and let sit and problem should be over. Or take it to an AC specialist, they know what to do. Also make sure the drain tube is clear of gunk and drains well.

It's a common problem. It stems from mold and mildew on your evaporator coil, a perfect place for mold and mildew to grow. (dark, moist, and warm when the AC is not in use) It's particularily bad when you use the air recirc mode often and smoke in your car.

You can also try replacing your incabin micro-filter.. You're suppose to replace after every pollen season..
Just one question.. Where are you located? It's funny hearing someone turning there AC on in the middle of winter..

As a preventative measure, before you shut off your car, turn the AC off and blast the fan to get all the moisture out... mold/mildew like wet places... Oh and make sure you set it to outside air(not recirc)while ya gots the fan blasting...

There are a couple of kits available. Search the web "Automotive Air Conditioning Cleaning" and you'll come up with a few companies that sell these products. There's also nice detailed instructions and pics you may find interesting as well.
I know in the 4th gen max, if you remove the resistor block you can get the tubes for the cleaning system in there to soak the coils up nicely.
You can also try a home made cleaning kit. Squirt about 1/2 a bottle of Simple Green in there with the A/C on, fan on HI. Then shut the system off for about 10 Min. Turn it back on and squirt about 1/2 of bottle of clean water in there to rinse it out. I did this to my old Honda. Kept the system nice and clean. Smells good too!

Wow, never heard the word air-con be used in a while. Must be an asian thing to refer to a/c as air-con. BTW, I, myself am asian.
Anyways, I spray a quick 2 second shot of lysol in my vents. That seems to get rid of the BO smell
