Has anyone here dealt with budget exhaust lately? how was the service and quality of the work? i am thinking of getting 2.5" ss mandrel bent y & b pipes for my 2001 max, in the spring (I really hope I don't need too but my exhaust has been clanging around all winter and might need replacement).

That said, anyone here would be interested in getting a group deal together? they are about 45 min drive from me - they never answer e-mails, but seem to be good on the phone.

Someone tried setting up a GD for 4th gens some months ago. A bunch of people said they were in, only a handful of people ended up buying exhaust from the GD. IIRC

Good luck if you are setting up a group deal.

I live right here in Burlington, so they are just down the street for me. It has been over two years since I have had any dealings with them, when I had my B pipe swapped out to get rid of the squash section and had them delete my resonator for a straight through pipe. I believe the son is running things now and is not as organized as his father was. On the phone were pretty good to deal with and yes you have to make an appointment during shop hours which are during the week as they are not open on Saturdays anymore.

Do you have a link to that thread? I cannot seem to find it. Interested in seeing the pricing they were getting.

EDIT:
Found the link to the GD:

http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...t-exhaust.html

$245 for a Y pipe, $260 for a resonated B pipe, both SS 304. I wonder if they were mandrel bent? Id assume so.

When I spoke to them in the summer, they told me they would be able to do something near the above pricing for me, and I believe include install...

interesting

I've been wondering what happened to them. I bought a stainless Y for my previous 99 from them a few years ago, and looked for them for an exhaust before I was totalled last Fall. I inquired and was told they no longer ship out parts, and everything must be purchased at their Burlington location. I'm in the market for a SS exhaust for the 02 I have now, but schlepping up to Burlington during the week is tough for me. If the pricing is still competitive I'd be interested in getting a complete system from the Y back. They have no website anymore (last time I checked) any idea what they're making for an 02? Ok, just saw your edit after I posted...interesting, especially if that includes installation.
