Developing A Starting Issue

Recently i been having a hard time starting my car, (00 max) It seems to do it after i run it awhile and drive around, It will just crank and crank and make blub blub noises , Like it has open headers or something with the timing, but it runs and drives fine once i get it started.I just hit 160K on it, has not ever gave me any major issues, maf was replaced, starter and alternator, thats all. If anyone has any clues or idea's please share it. Thanks.

Only a O2 sensor code.

I forgot to mention I smell heavy fuel vapors that have a odd smell not like raw fuel before i can get it started. then it chugs like it has a huge cam them smooths out and idles fine.

Mine takes spells of not starting. Takes 2 or 3 trys before it cranks over. Will go for days without doing it again. Gonna check this ground thing. Maybe my problem too.

Professor: Can u or another member advise on the steps to change the ground to tranny and how to clean the cps sensor. Where are these items located? What was used to clean the sensor?

Thanks!

Ground the tranny and the starter mounting bolts. Did you have tranny or clutch work done before this started happening?

It might very well be 'it' - at least the ground route from starter back to the battery should be cleaned as the current is really high there during cranking.

In general though I hate these things - you never know if it was really it or you simply moved something while doing it. Only time will tell - let us know please in a month or two or if it comes back (wish not).

Ah, my 5th gen had starting problems every once in awhile.. I would try to start it and it would just keep cranking..

My 4th gen is a diff story though.. Turn the key and silence, nothing happens.. Gotta keep turning the key until it starts.. lol, nobody drives it though.. only has like 58k Miles..
