Currently own a 02 SE for some odd reason I have to hold the gas pedal down to get it to start. It just started doing this yesterday. Also prior I swear I can hear what sounds like to me is the valves ticking/knocking upon acceleration and while its in park. I checked the oil frequently and I also know about the issue of these cars burning oil. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thanks

 

Regular gas can be the cause of of the knocking. Our cars use premium gas.

- Clean or replace your Mass Air Flow Sensor.
- Replace fuel pump

 

Clean your throttle body and IACV with throttle body cleaner. Also try some Chevron Fuel System Cleaner.
