Exhaust sound ?. No-not what you think.!

I installed a Stillen rear section and Stillen intake this weekend. The car at idle and lower revs has that rumble I would get in the old G37 coupe. But after having my Brother run the car up and down the street the exhaust note gets more of an "airy" sound to it. Its weird. It sounds like air rushing out of a pipe. Its like the rumble and burble goes away and it is replaced by that airy sound. Its not the intake I am hearing as that has a very distinctive sound. Is this happening because the rest of the exhaust is stock? When I was under the car I saw the stock resonator. At least its what I thought was the resonator and it was HUGE! If I went with a custom B pipe in 2.5 with a Magnaflow 18 or 20 inch resonator would I loose that wired sound? I feel that I gained some power with the muffler and I feel that air sound is holding back more power.

Not really getting it did your resonator have a Huge hole in it or what cause the Air sound is usually a Exhaust leak, shouldnt just be the resonator alone....

No I did not see a hole in the resonator and I used a new crush/gasket o ring when I installed the muffler. When I went to the dealer he showed me the sheet and it showed an o ring went before the muffler. I would have thought it was a gasket. Think I might have an exhaust leak? I figured an exhaust leak would make it sound louder as it would be before the muffler.
