I would think the 8k-9k would sound doable. For instance, I just got my I30 last June. It had 22,600 original miles, but the dealer I bought it from took advantage or those miles and I paid 11k OTD for the car, and it's a 2000. Being that your Maxima is a few years newer with a different engine and some better features, I think that price is obtainable.
