5th/6th Gen Lower Oil Pan Difference?

Someone please school me on the oil pan differences between the 5th and 6th. From my understanding, the only difference is the placement of the drain. No other differences like capacity?

Anyone got pics?

...and if anyone could please post the exact measurement of the bolts that hold it in place.

Greatly appreciated.

I thought there were already some threads answering this question. Although I don't recall mention of the 6th gen lower oil pan, for some reason I was thinking that it was the 4th gen oil pan that was a direct replacement and relocated the drain to facing the passenger side.

I was looking into replacing it when I was installing the Cattman headers/y-pipe but opted against it at the time. I want to say when I priced one, it was about $40 through www.nissanpartsasap.com which is my local nissan parts dealer.

Here ya go. Two threads that have some great information. Doesn't answer the measurment issue, but if you're asking about interchangeability....this gives it to you!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say..... All VQ oil pans are the same.

My computer says the 03 Maxima Lower Oil Pans are the same as 00-01 I30s / 02-04 I35s / 02-03 Altima / 00 - 03 Maxima / And I know they are the same as RWD VQ35s, I just sold a 02 Maxima oil pan for a 05 G35.

I have a noob question, i've heard this "lower oil pan" comment a few times on here, can someone explain to me where the UPPER oil pan is? I don't get it.

This is an upper oil pan:

(You can see where the lower oil pan bolts to up there)

It bolts to the Block which holds the crank and pistons

I knew they mated up just fine. The threads I have seen only specify a different drain location but nothing exact nor pics showing.
