This might be off topic, but can you tell me the location of the mileage chip? If you see my other post, my odometer is disappearing, and I want to fix it since it is such low mileage. This could save me, thanks

They don't work on mine (all say something like "not for units with pin on fuel gauge.")

If you are looking at the front (inside) of the circuit board, it's on the upper left half - it's the only black, rectangular chip of its type with 8 pins. From the back side of the board, it says "conn 5" by where the pin holes are (on the upper right part of the board, looking at it from behind).

I'll try and get you some pics in the next couple of days.

What do you mean your mileage is disappearing? Is it fading out? If that's the case, it may have nothing to do with the chip. The LCD display for the mileage has pins that seat into their female counterparts. Maybe it's not seated properly.

Anniversary Editions are NO DIFFERENT

From 1999 to early 2001 the gauges could be unscrewed from the back of the circuit board. these gauges have Screw on faces as well. they're easy to spot because they have screws visible

In early 2001 Nissan changed to a glue on gauge face. these have gauges that are soldered to the circuit board, they cannot be removed without de-soldering and that messes up calibration.

I'm talking about MANUFACTURE DATES, NOT the model year.

All SE's for 2000/2001 had the silver faced gauges regardless of the style of gauges/circuits behind.
I don't know if you're still active on this board but this is very relevant to resolving my problem. So, if I see the 4 screws for speedo and tach on the pc board, it means I can unscrew the face and needle together w/o need to calibrate, correct?

Thus, if I can find a white-faced cluster with the same speedo and tach, I can swap with my black-faced gauges with no need for calibration? I have a 6/2000 production 2001 GLE.

Further, do the faces separate independent of the odo, allowing me to keep my cluster, only swapping out the faces?

Thanks much.
