225/50/17.....25.9" Dia.....804 rev/mile

245/45/18.....26.7" Dia.....780 Rev/mile
Buddy you're off more than 1-2 mph.....maybe about 5 mph
100% correct 245/40-18 is the best match. BTW; It's not rocket science and easy to match the OEM 225/50-17 circumference. Just compare the tire specs. that are usually available on almost every brand's site.

This is the kind of information I looked at BEFORE I bought a tire because I didn't want to get any tickets if I'm at 70mph thinking Im OK but actually going 75mph! The exact reason I did NOT buy 245/45/18 and decided with 245/40/18

Maximas have the UGLIEST wheel gaps in the history of cars....I HATE how the front end gap is WAY bigger than the rear gap...makes it look like the front end is up higher and the back sits low.

Drop first then choose your wheel. For the OP, if the deal is right get the wheels first, but wait till you drop the car to install it before getting rid of the stock ones.

Congrats! I'm still debating - got my fenders rolled yesterday just in case, so it looks like I've pretty much made up my mind but haven't informed myself of it yet.

I'm thinking of doing Vogtlands up front and Tein H-Techs in rear, or just H-Techs all around. I haven't lowered a car in years, so I'm a bit apprehensive of the ride harshness.

what does rolling the fenders do as far as appearance for the car, sorry i'm a total noob when it comes to that.. and pretty much everything else

i don't know how the vogtlands or h-techs ride but from reading the shiftice review, the h-techs drop looks pretty good.. i'm a big fan of ride comfort that's why i chose the H&R springs but in return the stance is not too aggressive as some of the other alternatives.. you should definitely go h-techs all around imo though, they look to be a relatively even drop

Fenders rolled using any available lowering springs is not necessary.

Rolling the fenders does absolutely nothing for you appearance-wise. All it does is avoid that the sidewalls of your tires get cut up/scraped by the inner lip of the fender. As stated below, not usually necessary

When I ordered my wheels, I was certain they were a +38 offset, but they are only +32. They are 8.5" wide and on top of that, I went with a 245/45/18 wrap. I had them rolled as a precaution because they sit awfully close to the fender lip. Given the pretty penny I dropped for them, i don't want to risk ruining them. Even if I don't drop it soon, it won't be long before I have a chunky passenger in the back and if I hear a rub, I might go temporarily insane and wring their neck by no fault of their own

If you get the correct size of tire, they should be fine.

I have 8.5's also +33 w/ 5mm spacer in front and 10mm in rear, but 245-40's on Progress springs, used to have S-Techs, no issues aside from the occasional rub because of the rear beam centering.

I agree though, with those tires and any type of cargo in the rear, it's wise.

Why don't you like the drop? Your car looks nice dropped.
