You should be fine then. Play around with a spare length of wire first. A couple test runs and everything will come flooding back.

This guy does a great job of putting the wires together around 5:30.

Ignore the rest, the solder he used is wrong, the gun is dirty, and he did an aweful job of the actual solder.

But the connection part where you join the wires is very nice. That's how you keep it as close to original as possible (without a proper plug/harness pin connector)

Radio Shacks are typically local and they'll run you about the same. They have a far better selection. Don't let them upsell you to the one you don't really need.

Actually I didn't read into what he was doing enough. You're right for the most part. They're sensitive though, just not as linear as a Wideband.

For example, say your stock O2 reads 0.620V at 14 AFR

Now you change the wiring poorly and there's a greater voltage drop across the wiring. This translates to 0.500V at 14 AFR

But the ECM reads 0.500V which is, say, 13.2 AFR, so it leans out. Now you have an engine that is targetting 14.8 AFR instead.

This is an exaggeration obviously. And it won't make this level of difference unless you really botch a connection.
But it CAN make that level of differnece.

Just something to chew on.

The most important part to me personally is this is a high heat, high debris area. And as such, prone to deteriorating connections. A bad connection (butt connector) in this area will fail eventually, just a matter of time.

A good solder connection with shrink tube tied up nice will last forever.

Nevermind the resistance thing.

so after quick online searching I've decided I'm going to go all out and pop my clay cherry...

Any old clay bar kit that I can pick up at Wally World or Autozone is ok, yes? Then I'll either use my Uncle's super-industrio- polisher/buffer or my boss' orbital buffer to polish and wax the thing... ooh boy!

Seeing though as you've obviously never tracked a car, I can see why you believe GT5 to be better, but for anyone who's taken a car to a road course a few times you clearly know that Forza 3 > GT5, and Forza 4 just destroys the competition.

The Primeria in GT5 is just plain godawful, NFS does a better job simulating FWD, solid ream beam cars then they did w/ the Primeria, I can only imagine how poor of a job GT5 did w/ their premium models, I know all of the Z32 owners complain A LOT about how poor of a job they did sim'ng their cars.

And don't even get me started on the tires and braking

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow so unless ive actually driven on a road coarse in real life then i wouldnt know what "video game" is better???.... seriously???

how about this then if thats how extreme you are going...... seeing as though you have never "driven/tracked" 99% the cars in that game in real life then there is no way you should know which game simulated those cars best...

because of its name...... there was NFL 2K, NFL blitz... they didnt stop making those because it was poorly simulated (except for blitz).. Madden was a well established brand and the market respond more... hence why battlefield may be a better game but COD will always sell more (same in the case of xbox vs PS3 in the earlier years)

Good for you. Plenty of how-to's on youtube, but you'll quickly discover how stupidly simple it is to do properly.

"pop my clay cherry"... Odd choice of words, but mmk.
