If I hear one more thing about Penn State today I will put my head through a wall. One of the few things I don't like about living in this area. The cult-like brainwashed following of that school is ludicrous.

Hey, Amerikaner83... have you ever met Gappy the Frog?

No particular reason. Just thought you two might know each other.

With all due humility, that's actually a reasonable benchmark.

Now that I look back at pics of my old 1999 SE 5MT, I have to admit there's a glaring sense of imbalance going on between the wheels and the body of the car.

But damn... that was still a pretty car.

ok guns. Good.

I'm thinking of getting something for family and self-defense. Coworker swears by a "home defense shotgun"...18" barrel with pistol grip. I'm thinking something simple like a 9mm or .380 handgun...thoughts?

I was researching and looking for an affordable 10mm, and looks like Glock has the best deal on a new one, model 20 and 29 with the 29 being a compact model.

What's your overall opinion on the Glocks? I've never shot one. I'm mostly a 1911 frame fan when it comes to the auto pistols, but the 1911's offered in 10mm are at least a grand or more and I don't want to spend that much, unless I get lucky and find a used one. Kimber makes a really nice one, but the m.s.r.p. on one of those is over $1,300.

On the gun note, I saw a quote in someones sig recently I liked

If you think you're the only person with a gun you're an idiot.
It has so many connotations.
I can say that word becuase ghustle appears to have lost his internet connection.

Shotguns work good for home defense because they also double as a skull smasher. 9mm and .380's are good, but a .380 is less powerful than the 9.

True, but if I end up in the future going conceal carry, the smaller 380 would be easier to handle around and conceal, no?

You can get other guns that are compact to carry, not just the .380. You can get a 9 or even a .40 in compact. Also, Smith & Wesson sells a compact hammerless revolver that's ideal for concealed carry.

KSG

The KSG (Kel-Tec Shotgun) is Kel-Tec CNC’s first entry into the shotgun market. The size, shape, and design is similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward. The KSG weighs 6.9 lbs. and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1” overall length and an 18.5” cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 12 rounds of 12 gauge 3” rounds in total (6 per tube). It can also reliably shoot shells as short as 1 3/4" up to the 3".

Barrel length
18.5"
Total capacity
6+6+1

glock is a little wild to fire slightly uncontrolable under high stress fire situations.NO where near match grade shooting expect 3" groupings at 50yrds

Backwards concept

stopping power vs. comfort and capacity

3 inch groups at 50 yards is accurate enough. I wouldn't use it to enter competitions with.
