Of course, I'm not privy to the details, but I suspect the curb got the better end of that deal.

Oh boy. Just got news that yet another one of my good friends just went down on his bike. He survived but cracked his skull and has road rash all over his back. It was his own fault though. He's a beginner with a '94 cbr600. Popped a wheelie with no helmet and the bike came out from under him.

I just did the headers and brakes on that bike 3 days ago too.

That sucks, especially since they have to scrub and pick out all the pavement embedded in his skin from the road rash.

I had a friend in HS who hit the open tailgate of a pick-up truck parked half in the road at night. He's been in a wheelchair ever since.

10 years ago a close friend hit a tree in his sport bike and crushed his spinal column like stepping on a banana. Also in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Bikes scare me, and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone here has a story.

I had a good friend killed on a bike about 12 years ago. Snapped his neck and was killed instantly.

I also saw a Cadillac pull out right in front of a guy riding a Harley. That didn't end well.

With all this rain i should just go throw a bucket of soapy water on the car and let the rain wash it

I do like my bicycles. I have two Cannondale mountain bikes. One is strictly for trail use, and the other was converted over for road use, but I don't like to ride on the main roads with all the traffic. I ride around all the back roads in my neighborhood.

I've done that before. I'd scrub the car down with a soapy wash mitt and just let the rain rinse it off.
