Slight amounts of fresh air are always supposed to come into the passenger compartment from various areas. This is to help alleviate driver strain by keeping the level of carbon dioxide down, as well as safety in keeping the level of carbon monoxide down. Its not a design flaw. All cars have some air that gets into the compartment from various areas.
