if more details are needed for people that want to do this I will do a full write up.and yes your exhaust will NOT move rattle or bang.i have done this on a 97 with oe replacement exhaust(pics) and 03 with Megan 2.5",Cattman 2.5" and Cattman 3" and never had any clunk or misaligned pipes

You could've accomplished this by elongating the heatshield bolt holes and reshaping them a little....

I must be living right, with 240K on my '02 there's not a single rattle anywhere on the car, and I've never done a thing to the exhaust. Is your exhaust stock?
