P0037 Diagnosis
P0037 Diagnosis
Although irrelivent, this weekend I was playing around with intake set-up's, and tried running a set up with the breather hose from the front valve cover (bank 2), disconnected with a filter on it.
CEL came on almost right away, cylinder 1 misfire, P0300 multiple or random misfire and P0037 heated O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2. I cleared the codes, and now the sensor code wont give up.
It doesnt make sense why anything I did with the intake would have effected that sensor directly, but I cant chaulk it up to coincidence just yet. I just want to be sure I didnt cause this before i replace the sensor, so I just pulled up the troubleshoot from the fsm and am going out to bust out the multi tester, and rule out a short to power or ground.
Oh, and this is an example that sometimes a bit of spoon feeding to the right member will prove justified. I have the knowledge and multi tester to do this, thanks to tuner, who spoon fed me the fsm troubleshoot and tought me a few things about electrical. This was probly almost two years ago, now I'm a big boy and got it myself
Lets see if I can make it through the procedure on my own, wish me luck.

Ok, I made it through the the trouble shoot, but not without a few mistakes. The wiring diagram for the main ECM harness is to be viewed from the back, not the front. Whoops, but it's all good now.
Something else I discovered when checking sensor two on bank 1, is that it was sensor 2, from from bank 2. Huh, apparently I've had the secondaries in the opposite banks without a problem for over a year haha.
Long story short, I'm fairly sure at this point that the sensor needs to be replaced.

Before I buy a new O2 sensor, can anyone confirm that it is actually possible have the secondaries in the opposite banks?
I don't see why not since they aren't doing a whole lot, but what do I know lol.

I'm confused about the fact that you got a cylinder 1 misfire since that coil is at the back by the passenger side while working on the front intake pcv hose.
But guessing maybe that was a old code?
Also the fact that any code would come up is a little odd but i would take a look at the o2 sensor and see what condition its in most likely will need to be replaced.
Almost makes me think a wiring issue with so many random codes but start with the o2 and go from there.
Also by any chance did you remove that valve cover? Just wondering since the O2 sensor connections are all in front of that valve cover.
