What kind of radio have you got that needs a code?

George_logic=wheels affecting rotor weight...

The truth is that bigger rotors (stock 6th vs stock 5th) are heavier. But they do provide better stopping (not by much, 2-3 feet maybe), better pedal feel and better heat dissipation. The biggest advantage is for track use though, due to heat dissipation. Not a huge difference for the street.

Somebody gave you wrong information. The stock Nissan radios don't use a code, so you can disconnect the battery without any problems other than you will have to re-program the radio station presets.

I actually drove it to work today after the spark plug change and rear VC change. Love this thing. I usually drive an auctioned old/retired cop car, 2004 Impala. And the Maxima is a dream compared to that thing, although, my car doesn't like certain bumps while the cop car takes them like a champ, but that's what happens when you're on 16's and soft **** suspension.

Funny because it was my dad who owned an identical 03 GLE and when he disconnected his battery he had to pull out his radio to get the code off the back and it was a stock radio.

^^Was it for that damage in pics you sent george?

In other news...

Cleaned SNOW off the car, and it's March 20th. I can't stand this weather any longer...

I'm not even in Canada and this keeps happening. And I just cleaned up the engine yesterday from all the winter time salt and sand that got in there.

No overall weight of the car. The winter setup uses the super heavy OEM rims but rest of the year I'm using lightweight alloy wheels

Got the coilovers prepped...

-- Hosed it down then put more rust proofing on it
-- Raised notches al the way up and all the way down
-- Put some anti-seize on the threads
-- Front aligned to roughly 4 notches (last year it was 2.5)
-- Rear aligned to roughly 3 notches (may put it at 4 due to subwoofer in the trunk but won't know until it's on the car)
-- All four set to 8 clicks clockwise

Checked distance with a Caliper

OEM you can buy the shift **** by itself but it looks like for the boot you have to buy what they call the boot console which includes the boot and bezel.

Last week i went to get my airbag recall done and it didn't go as planned. I had an appointment, showed up and there were a ton of cars at the dealership. It was cold and raining. No one said a word to me in 20 minutes of waiting so i left. I did what anyone else would do next, lit their asses up on the dealers Facebook page. They didn't like that too much but it got my point across.

Service manager called me this week and apologized. Set me up for a new appointment. Went in today and they had it replaced and the car washed in 20 minutes flat. If you have an appointment and they tell you more than an hour of labor is required, they are full of crap. The power of social media is amazing.

^^ Nicely done. Some dealerships aren't very considerate of peoples time, especially if you're not a regular customer (why would you be, considering the huge ripoffs)....

Exactly! I didn't break the airbag, that's their fault. They shoulda came to my house to fix it. At least it's done now.

He was close. He had to turn and waited as long as he could to get over into the turn lane to screw with me. It was weird. Then I blasted the exhaust at him when I went by...and he was waving me back in my side mirror....like I'm gonna do a u turn and go fist fight over absolutely nothing...lol

^^Im surprised this got to you, especially some dumb kid in a lifted truck. I swear, the people in my whole entire area suck so bad at driving that I deal with this crap every single day.

Not to mention, people in my area seem very spiteful and defensive. And considering that it's a nice yuppy area, plenty of nice expensive cars that always get butthurt being passed by an old Maxima.

I love it

Funny you mention that, I've been looking at doing the same to save my ***.

I had this happen to me about a month ago:
I'm on the same road I travel every single day without ever having a single issue. This road goes past a school, 25mph limit and all that..So I'm driving in left lane like always going 25 and almost at the end of school zone when some retard in a silver benz drifts right into me, only way to avoid him was making a pretty agressive move and swerving around him...

Next thing I know this idiot cop is giving ME a reckless driving ticket (thats a retarded misdemeanor in good ol VA), no cop has ever been there in 5yrs, but on this day it was just my luck. Never have I wished to have had a dash cam than on this day, its a real shame.

I just bought a black 2001 Maxima GXE yesterday and I washed her for the first time today. Soon I will polish and wax her and I think she'll look great. I haven't owned a manual tranny since 1980, and I love the 5 speed in "Maxine"
