13 Years of the 2000 & survived recent storms/water

Don't know how many of original owners left on here, haven't posted in a long time here. but
Just hitting the 13th year of the 5th Gen.
Almost killed her "hydrolock" last week from the storms and the rivers created....
luckily I didn't but stalled out during a turn. Stalled...sat in a pond of water below door height...for an hour. Got a tow...then....

So IACV shot a few days later due to that yeah $$$. But it could have been far more terrible. Almost wasted my ride....so although I didn't submerge the car its time to boot my Injen style CAI (old school ebay version but essentially same model)....gonna try the Weapon R instead.

Almost couldn't avoid it that day sucked up a ton of H20 into the engine....made chocolate milk of my oil...

luck and knowing to drain the choco milk out helped avoid a complete disaster.

Anyhow be smart and let's hope these 5th gens go for another 13 years strong....love this gen....even with all the crap.

I'm the original owner of a 2000. About 8 yrs ago we had the remnants of a hurricane blow through. My wife decided to transit a road that was flooded.
Needless to say there was about a foot of water (maybe a little more) and she sucked air in through the intakes. Trashed the engine.
Nissan dealership along with insurance found a salvage engine with about 5k miles on it. Nissan did the engine swap. Perfect, car ran great and still runs great to this day.

Other than coils and sensors car has been great.
Nowadays it's a third car and maybe sees 1600 miles a year. Sits in the garage lonely.
Current odometer 119,204.

2k GLE original owner...245,000 miles. Everything replaced or rebuilt save the engine and tranny. Only issue is rear main seal leaking. Runs great overall.
