Annoying pop that i can not figure out and has been there for years...

So I have a popping sound in the front of my max that has been giving me and my dad grief for years, we cannot figure out what is causing it, it sounds like a suspension or cv axle but it's not, it's not the linkage, steering rack, lower control arm, or the strut mount, has anyone else ever had this problem? If so did you figure it out, or is this a 5.5 gen issue

You are going to need to give these guys some information. When does it pop, any work previous to popping, any work since popping, mileage, anything

It has 180,600 miles, I've tried fixing it with all the previous repairs

Motor mounts ever replaced? If you search this is a common issue.

When does the popping noise start? During driving? Braking, shifting between gears? you can physically look at the side mount and see if its no good. If the rubber is cracked and loose its time to change. What springs are are you on? Have they ever been changed? Does the noise occur during turns or straight away driving.

so all three mounts have been replaced, original stock springs, have not had issues with them, it happens when i turn, which sounds like a cv axle issue, but the cv is fine, recently replaced the lower control arm, sway bar linkage, and no fix to the pop

I'd say strut mount bearing or spindle bump stop would be my first places to look.

I change my mounts and struts at the same time and I haven't been having a grinding sound when I turn, just sounds like when you crack a knuckle

+1. Make sure you have the plastic end cap on the bump stop.

Ok, would motor mounts also attribute to torque steer?

Just checked motor mounts, all is well, but I have a torn cv... So that solves the turning pop, but would a torn cv also cause torque steer?

Check the Right Engine Mount

No, you don't need an engine hoist.

If you haven't replaced your passenger side engine mount, chances are that's the problem. It's common, and my experience is very similar to yours. My mount gave multiple symptoms (clunking + lisping/grinding noise).

It's not expensive to repair. I can recommend Anchor mount (from RockAuto.com). Most mechanics can replace it in 20 minutes (but will charge you for more). It's doable DIY.

The passenger side looked perfect, I'll replace the cv this weekend, and go from there
