Cruise Control Problem

Hey guys, I've been searching the forums for weeks about this problem but nobody seems to have had it. My Cruise Control lights up when I turn it on and when I press set the "SET" light on the cluster lights up and stays on but nothing happens and the car coasts. When I press on the brake the "SET" light immediately turns off so I think the brake switch is good. I opened the hood and I think one of the lines is the accelerator and the other is the cruise control one(???). I followed one and it led into the firewall and when I followed the other it led to this thing(See Picture). The hose on the left that I marked with the red dot was disconnected and I reconnected it and it didn't help anything. I noticed this thing is cracked to hell and back and I have no idea what it's called. I also have a p1440 code (I replaced the gas cap) that keeps popping up and I don't know if it's related to this.

Yeah it relies on a vacuum. It is not going to hold a vacuum with it busted open. I bet that is the cause of your code as well.

Nissan calls it "actuator assy-ascd". The Nissan part number is 18910-2Y900 and the list price is about $215. It includes the bracket and the cable that goes to the throttle. I don't know if the cable comes off but since Nissan does not sell the cable separately, it probably doesn't.

I would visit a junk yard for this. The 2000 and 2001 use the same part.

As for the P1400, I'll guess the opposite of gapboi. But it is easy to check. Just plug that vacuum line that goes to the actuator and see what happens.

Yep, this will be like 10 bucks at the junkyard.
