How to fix this?

The rear passenger sidemarker sometimes doesn't turn on... Have to hit the bumper...

Checked the wiring and one of the bends is causing the issue. If I hold the bend straight it turns on 100% of the time but then I can't put it back into the car

any cheap fix?

You found the problem, just fix it. Should cost less than $5 and 15 minutes of your time.

Use an exacto knife and split the wiring so that each wire is isolated. Repeat and bend wires again to determine which wire is bad. Cut out 4" length of bad section and splice in new section of wire.

You're overthinking this.

As for wire gauge, just replace in kind.

You may even find that the wires aren't broken and there's just some worn insulation letting them short. In that case you can just tape the worn wires individually then wrap them all back up.

Like Wizard said. Use similar or thicker wire.

If you don't have extra wire and stuff like that laying around, you should check out your local U-pull it yard. You can get stuff like that for next to nothing.

I think it might be the connector itself or somewhere higher up.

Oh well I'll hit the bumper every now and then
