Hey guys, MAF0095 is a pathfinder maf and will lean out at around 4500 rpm's in our maximas. MAF0099 is what you want. I tried it too because it was less expensive and looked identical but my wideband told me whats up. Then I questioned a Hitachi tech by email and he set me straight. FYI for anyone looking at this thread.

Cheapest I found was amazon around 170 for Hitachi. If thats too much $$ next level down I would try is the NTK from rock auto.

I have a duralast one from autozone, should I just buy the Hitachi one instead? Or use the duralast one.

I've gotten a bad maf before but the car still ran ok it would just cause idle issues. The duralast maf should be ok to run your car if its new. I'd make sure your problem is really from the maf and not something else like maybe timing related.

I tried the Duralast one on my 2000 a few years ago and it did not work well. Didn't really run smoothly at idle and noticeable power loss. I actually got an oem one from the dealer for around 80 bucks which was cheaper than the duralast and ran perfect.

I’m pretty sure that Duralast won’t last! My original OEM is still working in my 2K3. I’ve decided to go to the rectangular MAF offered on NISFORMANCE versus the original round one. I’m only changing because I’m changing to a NISFORMANCE 3.5” intake tube that is fabricated for that rectangular Hitachi MAF.

I had a Duralast MAF and it didn't work as well as the used OEM one I'm running now. it will run but not as good as OEM. when I switched from the Duralast to the used OEM MAF my idle got way smoother and the engine seemed more responsive.

just get it from Rockauto, you never know what your really getting when it comes to Amazon. I remember years back hearing about counterfeit spark plugs on there. you're better off getting a used OEM one from eBay than rolling the dice with Amazon.

the Hitachi conversion MAF you mentioned above is on Rockauto for $65

no. MAF0031 will not work unless you do a slot maf conversion and have the ecu tuned to account for the different maf.
