2003 Maxima Unknown Pigtail Sticking Out Under The Car

I have a 2003 Maxima that I am currently working on for my girlfriend's parents. I have access to a lift so I lifted the car up Saturday and there was a pigtail sticking out from under the car, passenger seat side. See picture:

What is it for?

interesting, but that might be it. i have no idea to be honest. they bought this car several years ago from an auction or carmax; can't remember what they told me. but perhaps the previous owner tried to race it or something. there was also an under brace to stiffen the chassis up.

anyways, i was just curious because i was checking the o2 sensors as to why there is a p0057 code. they told me they replaced all the o2 sensors in the past, and another set about a year ago. car is a 2003 SE and only has 160k miles.

Whatever it is, it's not stock. There are no plugs that come through the floor like that and it doesn't even look like a Nissan plug.

There are also some zip ties on the frame rail that don't belong. He could have had underbody light strips. It would be interesting to trace it and see if it goes to a switch or some other location.

It should come out in the glove box if it was stored in there with the AFC.

That looks like a o2 sensor, since I know on the 2002-2003 have one o2 sensor with a rubber grommet that come through the floor board. Check see if you have all four o2 sensor are connected since possibly someone didn't. I never seen zip ties there before unless that's possibly some other aftermarket accessories where wired previously there.

Maybe I should mention that my car is a California car. I don't know if that makes a difference. I looked in the glovebox and didn't see any wires coming out of it. I gotta look around the car more often.

Definitely a WB O2 sensor connection. Looks just like mine.

On 02/3's, 2 are green and 2 are baby blue, and they don; have that many prongs for the plug.

Keep in mind, these are the sensor (female end) and what you have there should be the male end. In any case, you get the gist.

Might as well not wait until then and check the floorboard and try and find where it leads. No doubt in my mind it's a WB harness.

For 1, there are no sensors back there on an 02/3, for 2 there are no connectors that big, much less that far back. Little strange the exhaust look stock though.

Here's mine .... like I said, it looks as if it's missing the actual sensor .... if it indeed is that.
