P0158/P0159 - No Emissions Req - Necessary?
2001 i30 w/208k
I just got finished doing a long, drawn out fix for the P0505 issue. Replaced the Idle Controller, had the ECU replaced, did the coolant bypass, unplugged the active engine mounts, replaced the MAF and cleaned the TB (plus finally replaced the front struts/springs) and needed to replace my rear calipers (and associated pads/rotors) and now I'm getting the P0158/P0159 CEL codes. Grr!
The issue happened after about 100 miles of driving.
Years ago I got the P0420 code and then it went away.
So, here's what I want to know. This car is my backup, once-a-week car (drove today because it was icy out) and I'm trying to stretch it out for 2 more years until our SUV loan is paid off. I have no more energy or money to throw at this unless its a critical issue.
I live in the country, so I do NOT have emissions requirements. I do not care about MPGs and the value of the car is less than the parts/tires I've put on it.
So, given all of that, is there a strong reason to replace this? I'm still shaken up from the whole stalling drama that the P0505 did to me, so I want to make sure that the car will run otherwise. I can't handle another stalling incident.
Thoughts? I've spent some time searching, but I'm not seeing what I'm looking for. Feel free to give me links if this has been discussed.

The codes are triggered by the secondary sensors. Either the sensors are bad or they're picking up on elevated levels of pollutants. Either way you should be ok if the car is running fine.
