P0011 code and bad accelaration

I have the p0011 and the car has ****ty accelaration, i have read this could be cuz of oil, ecu, connectors, ocv and circuit... I read that alot people just added oil and it fixed the light but i want to know if the bad acceleration is caused by the failure

Take off the IVT solenoid, separate it, clean the **** out of it and test it with 12v to make sure it actuates.

when you remove the ivt solenoid do you have to put gasket sealer on the gasket once you reinstall ?

The only type of gasket maker I would ever attempt to use is a spray type. You wouldn't want RTV to squeeze out and block the passages/potentially break off only to get stuck in the solenoid. Those passages are so small, it would be hard to spread regular RTV thin enough.

I've never had a problem with it sealing even when removing the solenoid multiple times.

What type of spray gasket sealer do they have? Mine has continued to seep oil onto the alternator, have to find a way to seal it so it doesnt kill it. Just gonna get another gasket from the dealer in the morning.

Permatex makes spray on stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80697-Spray-A-Gasket-Hi-Temp-Adhesive/dp/B000HBNUDQ

A very thin coating on each side should take care of it.

just went to nissan to get a new gasket, it was $12.80, the black coating had came off of my original, guess that was causing it to leak out.

Replaced knock sensor with oem and oem subharness, haven't gutted precats yet, waiting for warmer weather, but i replaced both cam sensors with oem, was still pulling KS code, so decided to do this...

I took my IVT solenoid out and it was oily and one of the plastic orings around the actuator was separated, but not broke, so I just simply pushed it back together and it snapped into place....? Cleaned housing with carb cleaner and checked connection was good, reinstalled and cleared codes...

So far haven't had another code...but it seems like once u fix I've thing another pops up, I guess u can't expect much less from a 15 year old car with 216k on the clock...
