I know this has been discussed at length, but I would like to get some clarity on this.
This diagram from the FSM seems to contradict everything I have read here on the forum.
This is looking at the transmission from the front of the car:
I would think the hose going into the "Oil cooler (IN) hole" would be the "return" line, where fluid is going into the trani from the cooler.
However, most other discussions say that the hose connected to the other hole, marked "Oil cooler tube (OUT)" is the return line, as in these pictures:
Before I do my Amsoil flush, would someone mind confirming which is actually correct?
The one that goes into ur radiator....in first pic ^ (return line dis from rad) remove that hose, put it in A empty container...it will squirt out fast when you start the car....get A buddy to start and shut car off once the containers almost full, thats the way I do my quick drain and refill.....if alone move fast lol......don't drain all the fluid out.....do 5 quarts max at A time......or use A empty water gallon....easier for measurements....then refill......drive A day or two and do it again two more times. Flushing is A no no...drain it lol

Thanks for the reply.
What you have described here IS a flush. You are replacing (flushing) ALL of the ATF in the car. It's probably safer to only do 1 or 2 quarts at a time but the procedure is the same.
'Drain and refill' means you only empty the pan and refill. This method only lets you replace between 4-6 quarts of the nearly 10 total.
No need to get into it since it has been discussed at length and I'm sure you know what I mean. But thanks for taking the time to reply.
FanaticMadMax,
Thanks for responding. This type of flush is actually better than using a machine because it is much gentler on the transmission.
I let it pump out as much as it can before there's too much air. You should get 8 qts. Then I fill up the pan and pump a couple more through while shifting. Refill, run motor, shift and add fluid as necessary, then test drive and check one last time (or add some lube gard too).
