Type of seals used in power steering system?

So, I'd like to use some AT-205 in my power steering to stop the rack from leaking (it's really slow, but I am not replacing a rack, ever lol).

I read that some use teflon seals and since AT-205 eats teflon, delrin, and plastic...

Pretty sure that the rack seals are either plastic or teflon. I would use the Lucas stuff as it has no solvents, it is just a WAY thicker oil designed to work with the AT fluid already in the power system.

if it's leaking, you should rebuild it, since the leak stopper is only a temp fix, til you get it replaced or rebuilt. Otherwise you're prolonging the inevitable where your rack gonna take a dump if it continue to leak plus a whole big mess spraying all over the engine bay, I have seen that happened in my shop

It'll just have to leak to till the end of days. That is literally never going to happen. It's not worth the time to do it. If I were doing the engine swap, now, I would think about it, but it's too late for that.

It didn't start leaking until I filled it up fresh after the swap. Aren't previous owners that never change fluids awesome?

My rack's been leaking for years also (247k miles). I started topping it off with Lucas Stop Leak and I only have to top it off a few times a year now. My leak is not near the boots, but where the hoses/lines go to the rack. Not sure if the Stop Leak is more effective here than areas that leak inside the boots.

Is the leak coming from the yoke adjustment screw (the 24mm screw right next to where the steering column meets the rack)?

I have a very small leak there. I'm currently looking into this stuff.

It sounds like it might do the trick.

I haven't cleaned it off and checked, but that does appear to be the general area.
