02 Maxima GLE sometimes it won't start
Quick question before I buy s bunch of stuff....I have a 2002 maxima 114k. I came home one day the car sat for about an hour then it wouldn't start sputter then crank crank crank. It sat until the next morning then it started right up no lights on sounded great I must of just flooded it right? The next day went to start it, sputter then crank crank crank and nothing.... So now what? fuel pump? Crank shaft sensor? Which was changed about 3k ago. I read these forums all the time I'm not really a post a thread guy but I broke down because there is nothing clear about my problem that I could find. Any help is appreciated 👍🏻
When you try to start it, does it sound like it has too much fuel (flooded) or not enough?
In the first case, it could be your FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) and FPR relay. In the latter case, your fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, etc. There are several thread that describe how to test for busted diaphragm in the FPR - just search for "fuel dampener".

Try starting with crank sensor unplugged.
Also, turn the key while in gear several seconds to make sure fuel pressure is good, then start.
Not really sure. I could see cam sensor, but code should pop on if it's this bad and would shut off while running.
