Sigh. . P0011, P0021

Sold my 4AT '01 to my little sister and have picked up an '02 6-speed and I am in love.

About two weeks ago, I was on my way to work and I decided to pass a couple of cars. RPMs hovered around the high end, and then I came up to a light and threw it in neutral the last 100 ft or so.

The car's RPMs quickly decreased from 3k to 0 and the car died. Started back up no problem. Since then I have noticed that every time I drive hard and then go into neutral or hold the clutch the car dies.

Whenever I drive moderately aggressive, the car's RPMs will drop very low when put in neutral/ clutch engaged. . . but it will bounce back.

I have no problems starting the car, normal idle, normal power and everything else. The car does not give me a CEL (& no the bulb is not burnt out), but the code reader shows the p0011, and p0021 every once in a while. I clear the codes, and the car will bring them up in the background a few days later.

Yesterday I also had a p0300 (No CEL), but I have cleared that and not noticed any problems.

I have been told the car smells "gassy" by friends driving behind me when I get on it.

The oil was changed about 50 days ago, and it still is at the proper level.

I have read about replacing the camshaft position sensors, ECTS, IVT solenoids, etc... but I nobody has had the exact symptoms that I have had from my searching. I have thrown about 2500 of new parts on top of the 2700 i paid for the car and I really do not have the funds to buy new everything from Nissan and hope that it MAYBE fixes my problems. I just figured I would try to get some insight on the forums before throwing out a couple more paychecks.

Thanks in advance!!

Clean your MAF.
I had the same problem with my car. It's an AT, but I tend to shift into N when costing to lights/intersection and my car would die unless I gave it some gas. Cleaning my MAF fixed this problem.

Did you have the codes as well?

Unplug the crank sensor and see what happens (besides a long start).
