Auto to Manual question!!!!!!!

Hi guys, I have a 2003 GLE auto and I can get my hands on a 2002 SE manual,so my question to all you 5th gen gurus are-should I do it and if so what's the necessary steps and also is it worth it?I love my car, however I wish it was Manual. And the said car I can get for 1k running won't pass emissions.
Thanks guys.

If you have the time and tools i say go for it, manual trans realy wakes the car up.

MadMax yes I do have the tool, time however is questionable.I was just wondering what other people do/prefer in this situation. The other car runs just needs some minor tlc's and clutch.

It may be more worth it to just change the clutch in the other car and add fix it up then full on trans swap, unless the auto car you have has extremely low mileage or no rust then I would leave the auto alone. How bad of tlc does it need?

MadMax, the auto car has 250k on body and about 68k on 07 de swap I did 6-7 months ago along with trunk full of parts(new/upgraded ones) and few bolt ons-the other (6spd) car has-leaky timing cover, valve covers, small rear main leak, won't pass emissions,low/hard clutch pedal(engages really low)and cluster-odometer won't work along with gas gauge-the auto one is in 10000 times better shapes and conditions. But I just don't know how big of a pain in the butt will be to swap.

If these are your only 2 modes of transportation I would say keep the auto as it is and make it a dd. And have the 6 speed a project car.

If you have other cars as your dd then swap that ish!

BigLou the auto Max is my DD and as far as fun car I've got a Nissan 240sx turbo, but also I have 2 auto Maximas and 2 other cars to drive and I work for a Corvette shop with 24/7 access to it,the reason I wanted a 6spd because banging gears are fun

I bet the engine is toasted. 6 speeds really don't last long with precats.
