2001 Maxima for parts

Car just got hit this morning on the way to work. Both airbags deployed but there were lots of new parts on the car. If anybody needs parts in the Kitchener Ontario area let me know. Not sure how the insurance will handle it yet.

You should probably move this to the appropriate forum - the 5th gen parts for sale forum.

Is it a GXE with the double din radio trim? If yes I'll buy that from you.

If the car is considered to be totalled, the insurance company will give you money based on what the car would sell for if it wasn't crashed. The insurance company then becomes the owner and takes the car away.

If you want to keep the car and sell parts off it yourself, the insurance company will give you the resale value minus the salvage value, which is what a junkyard should be able to sell the pieces for. This is around $1500 in the US.

Unless you have some highly desirable, expensive aftermarket parts on your car, you will probably lose money by keeping it.
