Check engine codes
Check engine codes
I have an 02 6 speed. I have 5 check engine lights on. Codes p0180 p0011 p0021 p0340 p430. Has anyone had these codes and will any 1 fix the other such as p0011 p0021. They both are dealing with crank position. Is it work fixing or should I send to scrap yard?
The P0340 is your problem. This is the camshaft sensor (Phase) on bank 1 is bad. P0011 is saying the camshaft sensor (phase) on bank 1 is bad. P0430 says the pre-cat for bank 1 is not functioning properly.
The P0180 code is not an engine code. It says that the temperature of the gas in your fuel tank is too hot. Very rare that someone gets this code. It may possibly be because the ECU is confused from the other codes. Fix the camshaft sensor, clear the codes and this will probably disappear.

camshaft position sensors (3 total) are worth replacing instead of junking the car ... please note if you DO NOT use OEM CPS sensors, you will get same problems in 12 months, aftermarket CPS sesnors do not work on our cars.

I also had a misfire come up. I replaced the plugs and coils and still got the flashing engine light. But not as often
I know now the cat between the engine and firewall is bad. I had to get emissions waved last year for it. Will that sensor cause my car not to go over 4,000 rpms? And when the car died on me. The coolant sounded like it was boiling in the overflow or air pushing through. Is that related to my problem or something else?
