Car sat for 1 year. How do I flush stale gasoline?
My 2003 is old and rusty.. nearing its end. It sat at my parent's for about a year, unused. My replacement car was involved in a collision and it is totalled. I have to somehow salvage this Maxima atleast for the winter until I can gather funds to buy a new one.
Anyway, the car did start but died after a couple of minutes. The gasoline inside (maybe about 3-5 gallons) is stale.
Is there a way to flush most/all of the gas inside the tank without needing to turn on the ignition (which it won't anymore)? Correct me if I am wrong, isn't there a way to access the gas reservoir underneath the back seat? Please suggest or point me to ways I can accomplish getting most of the old gasoline out of the tank without having to tow it to a mechanic.
Thanks!

Get a Jerry can and siphon the old stuff out and throw in a fuel tank treatment, something as simple as seafoam along with new fuel and change your oil, oil filter, and air filter asap.
