Hello everyone,

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the rear brake caliper, but I have no idea on how to remove the center push rod from the caliper, FSM says remove ring C, then keyplate, and then push rod, but mine is just stuck inside..... Anyone here mind to share some tips?

Update 1: Did try using pliers to pull it out, no go, and damaged some threads at the push rod.

 

I wish I could help, (I'm new here) but I'm stuck a couple of steps before where you are. Since you have the caliper off, I'm hoping you could help.
I can't even get the caliper's bottom bracket bolt out. There doesn't seem to be any straight shot at the bottom bolt because of the other rod in the way.
I'm able to get the 19mm socket on the bolt using different swivels or angled attachments. I tried simulating having weight on the suspension by using a second jack, but no go.
I don't have a full (or half full) set of mechanics tools, but I still think I'm missing something, especially since I don't see many posts about getting that bottom bolt out.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. It is a 2006 Maxima SL with all stock wheels and suspension as far as I know. Although, I just purchased it a few weeks ago.
I'm actually trying to change the wheel bearing.

Thread a nut or 2 on the threads then grab it with pliers!

 

Thanks for the tips, but I just gave up and only rebuilt the basic brake section. By the way, the parking brake mechanical section for this caliper seized a long time ago. Maybe this is why it's so hard to pull out the center rod.

 

Better to start your own thread, as my car is 2001 Cefiro with a 3.0L engine. The rear suspension is completely different from your 2006 Maxima, I think, which has a multilink suspension, but mine has a torsion beam with no rods around the area.
