Homeade intake for 2K2!!!
This mod actually is a homeade piece which replaces the middle(resonator) section of the air intake setup. It uses PVC pipe, a plastic tube with a threaded end and some rubber clamps. You will see in the pictures it is the blue section of the intake with the little tube sticking out.
-PVC $ 5.89
-Threaded Tube .89
-Two rubber tube clamps 2.19(ea)
-Spray paint(optional) 1.99
-Total 10.96 + tax
As for performance. I compared it against the cone filter alone first. It is definitely at least 3X louder than just the cone intake alone. As for performance it might pull harder but it is hard to say because I did not have it in long enough and may have just been overwhelmed at the sound difference. (That middle resonator section really quiets the engine). However, there is a definitely a noticable performance gain over stock across the power band.
