service engine soon lt blinking/eng missing
I have a 2k 5spd. The service engine soon light started blinking tonight, just a few times and then quit. Then I started feeling the engine missing. Anybody got any suggestions for me to try before the dealer's service dept. puts it to me?
Could be a couple of things... but most likely it's bad coil packs.
If your mileage is in the 40k range, it seems to be a common problem. Have the dealership run the code for the SES light. If it comes up as a coil failure, have them replace all six.
It's a known problem, and supposedly there was a TSB issued on it, so your dealer should do the repair under warranty (hopefully.)
